The energy inside the Andrew J Brady Music Center was electric as fans eagerly awaited the return of Wallows to Cincinnati. With their "Model & More Tour 2025," the band was riding high on the success of their 2024 album Model while also teasing fans with tracks from their upcoming EP More, set for release on March 28, 2025.
Before Wallows took the stage, Deb Never set the perfect mood for the night. Her unique blend of alternative and lo-fi rock, combined with ethereal vocals, captivated the early crowd. Tracks like “Momentary Sweetheart” and “Not In Love” showcased her moody yet hypnotic sound, making for a fantastic lead-in to the main event. The audience gave her an enthusiastic reception, with many nodding along and swaying to her set.
When the lights dimmed and the first notes rang out, the roar from the sold-out crowd was deafening. Wallows opened with a high-energy performance of “Do Not Wait”, instantly pulling the audience into their world. From there, they powered through a well-balanced setlist, mixing old favorites with fresh tracks from Model and previews from More.
Lead singer Dylan Minnette commanded the stage with effortless charisma, his vocals sharp and emotive. Braeden Lemasters and Cole Preston matched his energy, weaving in dynamic guitar work and rhythmic precision that kept the momentum flowing. The chemistry between the three was undeniable, and their performance felt both polished and organic.
Wallows made sure to please both longtime fans and newer listeners by delivering a set packed with their biggest hits. Songs like “Pleaser” , Remember When" and “Scrawny” had the crowd singing every word, while newer material like “Your Apartment” and “Calling After Me” from Model showcased their evolving sound. The band even treated the audience to a live debut of "Hide It Away" a never-before-heard song from More, which were met with an enthusiastic response.
The audience energy was infectious. Whether it was the soaring chorus of “Pictures of Girls”, the deep grooves of “Your New Favorite Song”, or the emotional weight of “I Don’t Want to Talk”, every moment was met with passion from the fans. The connection between the band and the audience was undeniable—smiles, cheers, and even a few tears from those deeply moved by the music.
As the show neared its end, the band left the stage momentarily before returning for their big encore with "Are You Bored Yet?"—a perfect way to wrap up an unforgettable night.
Wallows once again proved why they are one of the most exciting bands in indie rock today. Their live performance was energetic, engaging, and musically tight, blending nostalgia with fresh creativity. The anticipation for More is now higher than ever, and if this concert was any indication, Wallows are only getting better with time.
