The Venue, Kemba Live! in Columbus, OH, was bursting at the seams with a capacity crowd eagerly awaiting the arrival of alternative rock icons, Coheed and Cambria. The band had just kicked off their highly anticipated tour, "Neverender: No World For The Waking Mindin," which started at The Norva, Norfolk, VA. and would traverse North America until fall 2023, with support from Deafheaven. Coheed and Cambria, hailing from Nyack, New York, have been mesmerizing fans since their formation in 2001, with their unique blend of progressive rock, punk rock, metal, and alternative rock. The band is on tour to promote their tenth studio album, Vaxis – Act II: A Window of the Waking Mind, which was released on June 24,2022.


As the lights went out on the stage, the crowd erupted in excitement, eagerly anticipating the start of the show. However, instead of the typical frenzied introduction, Claudio Sanchez made his way to the center stage and began playing "The Reaping." The crowd immediately joined in, turning the song into a thrilling singalong. Despite fans knowing what song was coming next, the 13 songs from No World For Tomorrow still managed to captivate the audience, highlighting just how many anthemic hits were born from one album.


"The Embers of Fire" signaled a shift in the performance, as it felt like a whole new concert was beginning. The new tracks from Vaxis II, "Beautiful Loser" and "Shoulders," already had the energy and impact of classic fan favorites. In total, the band played an impressive 20 songs, with seven of them coming from Vaxis II. Coheed and Cambria's performance was nothing short of brilliant, and their musical prowess and dynamic stage presence were a testament to why they remain one of the most respected bands in the alternative rock genre.


With their unmatched stage presence and massive fan following, Coheed and Cambria delivered a show for the ages, thrilling the audience with their masterful musicianship and high-octane energy. The night was an unforgettable one, leaving everyone in attendance feeling inspired, energized, and fully alive.
