The Summer Road Trip 2024 Tour at Riverbend Music Center in Cincinnati, OH, on July 12, 2024, was a night to remember, featuring co-headliners Train and REO Speedwagon with special guest Yacht Rock Revue. Each act brought their unique style and energy, making for a diverse and highly entertaining concert experience.


Yacht Rock Revue

The evening kicked off with Yacht Rock Revue, hailing from Atlanta, GA. Known for their lively performances and nostalgic covers, they set the perfect tone for the night. The band's energy was infectious as they played a series of beloved hits from the '70s and '80s. Their setlist included classics like Hall & Oates' "She's Gone," Kenny Loggins' "Heart To Heart," and Toto's "Africa." The crowd sang along enthusiastically, creating a joyous atmosphere. Among the covers, they also performed their original song "Tropical Illusion," which fit seamlessly into the nostalgic vibe. Yacht Rock Revue's performance was both fun and engaging, making them a fantastic opener for the evening.


REO Speedwagon

Next up was REO Speedwagon, who took the stage with their classic rock sound that has stood the test of time. They opened their set with the high-energy "Don't Let Him Go," immediately captivating the audience. The band continued to play a mix of their greatest hits, each song met with loud cheers and applause. Highlights included "Take It On The Run," "Can't Fight This Feeling," and "Time For Me To Fly," each performed with the passion and skill that have kept REO Speedwagon a beloved band for decades. The crowd particularly enjoyed "Ridin' The Storm Out," with its powerful guitar riffs and compelling vocals. They closed their set with the anthemic "Roll With The Changes," leaving the stage to a standing ovation. REO Speedwagon proved they still have the energy and talent to rock a crowd.


Train

As the headliner, Train took the stage with an electrifying presence, opening with their hit "Calling All Angels." The band's performance was a blend of their biggest hits and fan favorites, creating a dynamic and engaging set. Songs like "Save Me, San Francisco" and "Meet Virginia" had the crowd singing along word for word. A standout moment was their cover of Teddy Swims' "Lose Control," which showcased the band's versatility and ability to make any song their own.

The energy peaked with "Hey, Soul Sister" and "Drive By," both songs igniting the crowd with their catchy melodies and sing-along choruses. Train's interaction with the audience was warm and engaging, making everyone feel part of the performance. They closed the night with their mega-hit "Drops of Jupiter (Tell Me)," a perfect ending that had everyone on their feet, singing along to every word.


The Summer Road Trip 2024 Tour at Riverbend Music Center was an unforgettable night of music and nostalgia. Yacht Rock Revue set the fun and energetic tone, REO Speedwagon brought classic rock excellence, and Train delivered a headlining set full of hits and heartfelt moments. Each band complemented the others perfectly, creating a well-rounded and highly enjoyable concert experience. The energy from the performers and the enthusiasm of the audience made for a memorable night that fans will cherish for years to come.
