I recently attended The Kills show at Bogarts in Cincinnati, Ohio, which was an
unforgettable experience. From start to finish, the energy and intensity of the
performance were palpable. The band's raw and gritty sound was perfectly
complemented by the intimate venue, making the whole experience feel personal and
immersive.
One of the show's highlights was the chemistry between Alison "VV" Mosshart and
Jamie "Hotel" Hince, the two members of The Kills. Their stage presence was electric,
and it was clear that they were feeding off each other's energy throughout the entire set.
In addition, the way they interacted with the crowd was imposing. Mosshart was a
commanding presence on stage, engaging the audience and drawing them in with her
powerful vocals and dynamic movements.
The setlist was also fantastic, featuring a great mix of old favorites and new material.
Some of the standout tracks included "Kissy Kissy", "Future Starts Slow" and "Sour
Cherry". The band's performance of "Doing It To Death" was particularly memorable,
with the crowd singing along to every word.
Overall, I would highly recommend catching The Kills live if you can. Their energy and
charisma are unmatched, and their music is even better in a live setting. The show at
Bogart's In Cincinnati, Ohio, was one of the best concerts I've ever been to, and I can't
wait to see them again in the future. I also enjoyed seeing the opening act, The
Paranoyds, before The Kills took the stage, and they were equally impressive. Their
unique blend of punk and surf rock perfectly complements The Kills' sound, and they did
an excellent job setting the tone for the rest of the evening.
The Paranoyds' performance was high-energy and engaging, with each member
bringing their unique flair to the stage. The lead vocalist's powerful voice was imposing,
and the way she interacted with the crowd was very entertaining. The rest of the band
was equally talented, with the drummer standing out for her excellent rhythm and timing.
The setlist was also strong, with standout tracks including "Girlfriend Degree" and "Egg
Salad". The band's chemistry and energy were infectious, and it was clear that they
were having a great time on stage.
Overall, I was very impressed with The Paranoyds and recommend checking them out.
Their unique sound and high-energy performance were a great way to kick off the
evening, and I'm excited to see what they do next.
